Privacy notice
Early-access list · version of 24 October 2026
This notice explains what Kykie does with the information you give us when you join the early-access list or visit this website, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.
Who we are
Kykie is run by [registered business name], [registration number], [physical address], South Africa (“we”). Our Information Officer is [full name], who you can reach at [privacy@kykie.co.za].
What we collect
- Your email address, and what you sell if you choose to tell us.
- How you found us: the page you landed on, the website that sent you, and the campaign tags in the link you clicked, such as which ad it was.
- Whether you visited on a phone or a computer.
- A random visitor number kept in your browser, so we can count visits without knowing who you are.
- A scrambled, one-way version of your internet (IP) address, kept only to stop automated sign-ups. We never store the address itself.
Giving us your email address is voluntary. Without it we can’t tell you when your spot opens. We don’t use cookies or advertising trackers on this website.
Why we use it
- To email you when your early-access spot opens, and to send occasional updates about Kykie. You agree to this when you join the list, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- To learn which ads and posts bring people here, so we stop paying for the ones that don’t work.
- To keep the list free of fake and automated sign-ups.
Who else handles it
Three service providers handle information for us, only on our instructions:
- Supabase, which stores the list in a database in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Netlify, which hosts this website.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces. Your browser fetches them from Google, which sees your IP address when it does.
Their servers are outside South Africa. We only use providers bound by data protection terms that give your information protection similar to POPIA’s. We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until 24 months after Kykie opens to everyone, whichever comes first. Visit records are deleted after 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can object to how we use it, and unsubscribe at any time with the link in any of our emails or by writing to [privacy@kykie.co.za]. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Keeping it safe
Your information reaches us over an encrypted connection and is stored in a database the public can’t read. Only [full name] can see the list.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top. Every sign-up records which version of the notice was shown.
