Refunds and cancellations
Version 1 of 30 October 2026 · part of our terms of service
This page explains how to cancel Kykie, when you get your money back, and how to ask. It says the same as sections 5, 6 and 14 of our terms of service, in one place.
The short version
- Plans are month to month and nothing renews by itself, so you can stop at any time.
- Change your mind within 7 days of paying, before you use any of the tokens, and you get the whole payment back.
- A step that fails costs nothing: its tokens come back by themselves.
- If something you paid for doesn’t work as we said it would, we fix it, redo it or give the tokens back.
Cancelling
- Your plan. Kykie doesn’t store your card, so nothing renews by itself: each month is paid on its own. To cancel, simply don’t pay for the next month. There’s nothing to switch off and no notice period. Your plan runs to the end of the 30 days you paid for (14 days for the test drive), and plan tokens you haven’t used stay for one more month.
- A step you started. You can cancel any step that hasn’t started yet, such as a search or a draft website waiting its turn. Its tokens are released straight away.
- Your account. To close your account, email hello@kykie.co.za from the address you signed up with. We delete its information as the privacy notice describes.
Refunds
- Cooling-off. You may cancel a test drive, plan or top-up within 7 days of paying for it. If you haven’t used any tokens since you paid, we refund the whole payment within 30 days. This is your right under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Once you start using the tokens, you’ve asked us to start the service, so the cooling-off right no longer covers that payment (section 42(2)(d) of the same Act).
- Failed steps. A step that fails costs nothing. Its tokens come back by themselves; you don’t need to ask.
- Something we charged for doesn’t work. If a check or proof you were charged for isn’t what we said it would be, for example a broken draft website or an audit with figures that are clearly wrong, tell us within 30 days. We’ll fix it, redo it or give the tokens back.
- If we change or stop Kykie. If a change takes away something you’ve already paid for, if you don’t accept a change to our terms, or if we close your account for any reason other than misuse or stop running Kykie, we refund the unused part of your most recent payment.
- Otherwise we don’t refund payments for tokens you’ve used, or the unused part of a month when you stop. Your unused tokens stay usable as our terms describe. If we close your account because you seriously or repeatedly broke the acceptable use policy, we don’t refund unused tokens, as far as the law allows.
How to ask for a refund
Email hello@kykie.co.za from the address you signed up with. Tell us the date of the payment and, if you have it, the Paystack reference on your receipt. We reply within five working days.
Refunds go back the way you paid, through Paystack, within 30 days of your request. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
Your rights
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. If we can’t put something right, you can take it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za), the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za) or a South African court.
Kykie is run by Jasson Mangaliso, a sole proprietor, from Virginia Avenue, Vredehoek, Cape Town, South Africa. Email hello@kykie.co.za.
